Praetorian Palace

Palazzo Pretorio

The Palazzo Pretorio of Peccioli, with medieval roots but modified during the 18th and 19th centuries, is distinguished by its facade adorned with a total of 19 coats of arms representing the aristocratic families and podestà who wielded power in that place. In the past, it served as the Prefecture's headquarters until 1923.

Currently, this building houses the Palazzo Pretorio Museum, which includes various art collections, such as the Russian Icons Museum 'F. Bigazzi,' the Belvedere Icon Collection, the 'Giuseppe and Paola Berger' Collection, and the Engravings and Lithographs Collection - Vito Merlini Donation.
The palace is located in Piazza del Popolo, near the municipal town hall.
